Are we just a 3D hologram created by 2D information stored at the edge of the universe?

It’s an interesting theory.

I remember reading ages ago about some scientists who were convinced that as they peered further and further into space, the image quality would degrade as though the resolution of the universe decreased the further it was away from us. (At least, that’s the way I semi-understood it.)
That discovery also supported this hologram theory.
