Best Buy is currently selling a $1,096 HDMI cable, so naturally it’s going to attract some sardonic user reviews.
Here’s some of my favourites:
I know you’re supposed to change these out after every 3 DVDs or 3,000 gigabits, but being the conservative frugal guy I am, I often leave this sucker plugged in twice as long before I change it out for a fresh one and most of my...
Don’t freak out if I’ve unfollowed you. I’m sorting out tumblr and there’s a good chance I’ve added you to Reader instead.

How Much Does Animation Cost? →
wannabeanimator:
“I have had people ask me for an entire 22 minute television show and want to pay me $100 to make it. No I’m not kidding. That would take me a year to do by the way. I have had people want me to draw 300 panels of art for their children’s book for $300. That’s a dollar a drawing. I have had people want me to produce a full color 22 minute storyboard for less than $250 bucks.”

A would-be saboteur arrested today at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland made the bizarre claim that he was from the future. Eloi Cole, a strangely dressed young man, said that he had travelled back in time to prevent the LHC from destroying the world…

I met a boyfriend-of-a-friend-of-a-girlfriend yesterday who’s into Star Wars as much as I am. (Possibly even more, since he’s read all the books at least once.)
He also has the coolest Scottish accent.
Star Wars fans just tend to be awesome people.

Are we just a 3D hologram created by 2D... →
It’s an interesting theory.
I remember reading ages ago about some scientists who were convinced that as they peered further and further into space, the image quality would degrade as though the resolution of the universe decreased the further it was away from us. (At least, that’s the way I semi-understood it.) That discovery also supported this hologram theory.
It’s ironic that I can’t find the homepage of the company I’m doing some animations for, yet “search engine optimisation” is one of their key services I’m meant to be promoting.

It’s interesting that all the foreign language Nightmare Before Christmas songs actually rhyme. (I’m sure that’s the case for many movies.)
I wonder how extensively the lyrics have to be altered to find rhyming alternatives…

ABC Technology and Games blog: The case for... →
Some good points there. My thoughts: - Movies - I agree, I think most people download movies they wouldn’t bother paying to see anyway. But expensive ticket prices play a part too - I mean, you could buy a Blu-ray for the cost of two tickets. Which brings me to my point that Blu-rays are kind of a pain in the ass. You’ve got to worry about discs and waiting for all the ads, warnings...

I find it completely fitting that the on-stage lyrics for the Rock/Metal bands that played at The Gov the other night were written in all caps.
